AS275B – AES3 MADI Passive Splitter
The AS275B is a multi-channel AES3 MADI Passive Splitter for use as a digital audio splitter. Offering both in-line and rack mounting formats this high performance unit meets the requirements of AES3i and AES10. The 19″ 1RU rack mounting units are available in 6-channel, 10-channel, 12-channel or 20-channel variants. In addition, a number of different connection options exist.

Description:
The AS275B AES3 MADI Passive Splitter conveniently splits a single source into two signals for distribution with minimal loss. Since it is a passive device, there is no requirement for power, therefore enabling easy and convenient deployment of the digital audio splitter within any facility.
Firstly, the AS275B digital audio passive splitter has been designed with reliability for critical applications in mind. Consequently, this AES3 MADI Passive Splitter is fault tolerant due to the high isolation between the outputs. As a result, the high isolation allows an open-circuit, short-circuit or incorrect termination on one output to have almost no effect on the quality of the remaining output.
Secondly, the design of the complex transformer arrangement minimises output and insertion losses. As a result, it will outperform a simple resistor splitter.
The AS275B AES3 MADI Passive Splitter will support all of the AES transmission rates between 1Mb/s and 150Mb/s. Therefore it is compatible with all digital audio formats including AES3 and AES10 (MADI) and offers a cost effective alternative to powered distribution amplifiers. The AS275B is available in a in-line or compact 19″ 1RU rack mounting unit.
